去年因傷只打了 16 場比賽的小威廉絲，今年初排名已經滑落到百名之外。在澳網之前的熱身賽復出打進八強，才讓她的排名回到 81。但在雪梨止於八強的賽果，讓許多球評斷言威廉絲姊妹的時代已經過去，更碎嘴她在澳網抽到超爛的籤，不可能撐過第一週。另外，除了無心練球、只想闖蕩好萊塢這個百年議題，身材變胖更成為攻擊小威廉絲的新利器。
